You start the game with two Squad Points and gain two points for every level until you get to 20. Vanguards can't use firearms quite as well as a Soldier, or biotics quite as well as Adepts, but then again, they might not necessarily need to, either. The max level in Mass Effect 2 is 30, which is true for both the standard game and the Mass Effect Legendary Edition package. That's because Vanguards use both arms and biotic powers with great skill, making them a force to be reckoned with. If you want the best of two worlds, you'll want to head in the direction of the Vanguard. You can use firearms of all types with great skill when you're a soldier, though many of your powers are limited to ammunition manipulation (with the exception of the ever-useful Adrenaline Rush, which brings time to a stand-still temporarily). The Soldier is, essentially, Mass Effect 2's default class. Good luck! Playing as a Sentinel isn't easy. Fortification isn't as good as geth shield or barrier because upgrades don't affect it like the other 2, but i love the apearence and the utility Inferno grenade is not something i would use, but it's a instant 'burn enemies' so it might be nice for classes. afterall it made things pretty easy, it's a good all round ammo. Lacking any real ability to use firearms, Sentinels will need to depend on their dueling skillset, which includes both biotic and tech-based abilities. I used warp ammo on my sentinel and infiltrator, i can't say it's bad. The "Thief/Rogue" of Mass Effect 2, Infiltrators take a lot of skill to use properly, but have plenty of skills, including the ever-useful Tactical Cloak, to assist in silently stalking enemies.īecause of their unique play-style, the Sentinel class should be left to those who have a lot of experience in the Mass Effect universe. Their ability to manipulate machines and computers makes them invaluable members of any party, though they aren't always able to effectively defend themselves with standard weaponry.Īn Infiltrator is rarely seen, doing damage and wreaking havoc from a distance. If you're looking to play as someone good with their hands, then why not look in the direction of the Engineer? With technical prowess far surpassing the other five classes, Engineers use "tech" abilities to give them a needed edge in combat.
